It is the portion of a natural essential oil of Mentha. Menthol has been a valuable remedy proved to be beneficial in inflammation in the nose, throat and Eustachian tube. It also falls in the sphere of mucous membrane of the nasopharynx and network of vessels in the spinal nerve producing pain.
